Vascular Lesion Reduction

Our vascular lesion reduction service aims to get rid of unwanted cutaneous vessels on the face, such as telangiectasias, cherry angiomas, spider angiomas, and venous lakes. Our laser will target and heat the hemoglobin in the veins, thereby coagulating the blood and collapsing the vein. The vein is then reabsorbed by the body's lymphatic system.
What to expect
Consultation
Prior to your treatment appointment, you will meet with one of our providers to determine if you are a candidate for removal of your vascular lesion. Your provider will evaluate your skin type and discuss which areas you'd like to treat. You will learn your pretreatment protocol and any considerations leading up to your appointment.
Treatment
When you arrive for your vascular lesion reduction appointment, your provider will clean the treatment area and place a light amount of cool gel on your skin. You will be provided protective eyewear to protect your eyes during the treatment. During the treatment, your provider will position the handpiece with the cooling tip over the lesion to provide light anesthesia to the area and then target the vessel. The handpiece will be placed back over the area immediately after to cool the area down again. Most clients find the process to be incredibly tolerable.
Aftercare
Your skin may be slightly red or flushed for a few hours after. While there is no expected downtime, it is important to avoid direct sun exposure for at least four weeks after and avoid any activities that cause flushing for 48 hours after the treatment. You are encouraged to clean the area twice daily and may apply a gentle moisturizer if needed.
Treatment Length
Two sessions are recommended. If treating lesions in the face, your second appointment should be in 4-6 weeks, and if in the legs 8-12 weeks.
