Joint Regeneration

Assessing the knee prior to a PRP injection for pain

Do you have an achy joint that you would like injected with your own stem cells and healing factors? Our joint injections are preformed by our very own Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon.

Commonly Treated Areas
  • Shoulders

  • Knees

  • Wrists

  • Ankles

What to expect

When you arrive for your joint injection appointment, your provider preform a sterile blood draw in order to extract the PRP from your blood. The vial will be spun in a centrifuge for ten minutes and the PRP will be drawn from the vial into a syringe. During this time, you will be positioned so your provider can easily access the joint to be treated. The joint will be cleansed with a skin antiseptic and the provider will spray a numbing spray over the area to be treated to provide additional analgesia. Once you are prepped and the PRP is extracted, it will be expertly placed in the effected joint. The treatment itself takes approximately 5-10 minutes.

Aftercare

The joint may be tender from the injection but you may take over the counter pain medication for relief. You can expect symptom relief in six weeks.

Treatment Length

Joint injections can be repeated every six weeks, but they often do not need to be repeated less than every six months.
